Boring, and yet difficult
Journal Entry: Thu May 29, 2008, 4:08 PM
My sophomore year hasn't been my year at all. Although nobody seems to be giving me a hard time except my family (typical), I'm really pissed off at everyone else. They treat me like I don't exist. I bet deep inside, they're all thinking I "have no life, no friends, and do nothing but sit in front of that god damn computer." They have all the fun they want, talking, singing, dancing, and eating; not inviting me into their social niche. I'm stuck either zoning out our reading an incredibly boring book. I can't even keep my focus with all those loud monkeys surrounding me. Unfortunately, there are very few unoccupied places for me to destine, since my school is rather small.
My teachers are not doing a hot job, either. They are just yapping and yapping about how I have no excuse to get the grades I do, and they force me to do tons of pointless busy work. I'm not learning anything useful; I'm just having to memorize loads of useless facts. I ask myself "Is school really about learning, or is it just about preparing yourself for the real deal?" I for one am extremely pissed with the government for reducing the job opportunities in America. Everything is being made in China, so you cannot manufacture your products and create a good business. We now have to work in groups, take prompts, and be well connected to the world around you.
Anyway, I'm eager to get the hell out of 10th grade. It is torture! I hope I'll meet new people next year. People who are open to me. People who wouldn't odd me out. Okay, I guess I already have that. Maybe I'm just a brat who wants more. But we always want new things no matter how much we already have. The concept of newness excites everyone.
